Homespun Yarns
'Mr Biscuit'
18 November 2023 5 mins 36s
Crumbs!
by Jason Stone

Comedy actor Marek Larwood is the star of this comic contribution to the Homespun Yarns canon, though he is nearly upstaged by a stuffed dog. The duo interact in fun fashion as Larwood's character comes to terms with the loss of his father. The resulting house clearance is, as house clearances can be, rather unsettling, particularly when you are confronted by a wilful piece of taxidermy... the Mr Biscuit of the title.

Each of the films in Homespun Yarns sits between five minutes and six minutes in length, so we suspect this is a stipulation, but 'Mr Biscuit' would clearly benefit from being a little bit shorter. During its second half, it starts to lose momentum and, ironically for a competition founded by an editing house, this contribution could do with more disciplined snipping!
