Gala Bingo
'All the Calls'

Can you spot me?
by Jason Stone

This three minute long version of the last commercial for Gala Bingo reveals that there were a huge number of Easter eggs contained in the original film. By slowing down the action, Gala are able to hold a competition for viewers, who are challenged to identify images representing each of the colourful call signs used in bingo halls.

It turns out that the original ad was shot on a super slow motion camera, and this 180" film is merely the slowed down version of the 30" version.

It all sounds like a bit of a gimmick, but, the extraordinary thing is that the resulting film is a trippy, experimental masterpiece. Thanks in part to compelling sound design, you can't take your eyes of the action, and you don't need to be remotely interested in participating in the competition to find this extremely watchable.
