Dickhead Dealings | |

It can be hard to make light-hearted work about serious topics - there's always the risk that the joke won't land, or be wilfully misinterpreted - but this funny video for Equal Pay Day pulls it off with aplomb. The film puts into words what usually goes unspoken or is only hinted at: that men tend to trust others in possession of a penis. The audience is given a baptism of fire into the concept, as the piece opens with two men kneeling on a desk in order to let their dicks - in this case, hands poking out through their trousers - shake hands. It's a smart choice to let the, er, intimate positioning of green-suited cast members occasionally show, breaking the kayfabe and adding an extra layer of humour to proceedings. It's a fun and exaggerated way to highlight the real issue of pay inequality, building to a climax which sees men gleefully running about with their wrists flapping in the breeze. Director Lionel Goldstein handles the satirical tone well, with the limited script breaking down the problem into one, suitably ridiculous, line.
