SoCal rapper DSTRCT should feel on top of the world. He's got money, respect, and legions of fans, so why is he so on edge? Let's start with those late phone calls where a mysterious voice says, "The little lamb is lost in the woods". Then there's the man who loiters outside DSTRCT's apartment and makes him look over his shoulder wherever he goes. Talk about a party pooper. His lyrics suggest all is well ("Bitch, I'm livin' my dream/I do it for the dawgs, I ain't plannin' on leavin'"), but the promo oozes film noir paranoia. It's rare for a rap video to make the protagonist vulnerable and unsure of his surroundings, but director Joe Nankin and DP Hayden Mason do just that. "They aimin' at me," he raps, as if he's ready for a long night.
