When David Anthony Burke (d4vd) first uploaded videos of him playing 'Fortnite', he used other people's songs as background music. Keen to avoid death by a thousand copyright strikes, he decided to write his own material. Now he's signed to a record label and has a Billboard Hot 100 hit to his name. Well played, indeed. Rather than gloat about his success, the seventeen-year-old explores what it feels like when the party's over ("'Cause every time the sun comes up I start feeling worthless"). Promo director Chris Fowles runs with the artist’s neuroses: shots of d4vd in a psychiatrist's office are interspersed with moments of tainted reverie.
