'Never Change'
22 March 2023 2 mins 32s
A greet effort.
by Andrew MacGregor

Milo McCabe stars as Greeters Guild member Troy Hawke in a most hospitable Comic Relief film. Hawke plonks himself outside TK Maxx in Newcastle city centre, and there's a steady stream of customers for him to charm. All he needs to do is keep store security and management off his back.

When he's not complimenting Geordies on their clothes, personal hygiene, or "sparkling cobalt eyes", he insists that a Mr Jan Mølby from head office has approved his presence. So that's where the former Liverpool and Denmark defender wound up post-retirement.

Of course, the real reason Hawke's on site is to promote their range of Comic Relief merchandise ("This is a perfect passive-aggressive gift for a grumpy person"). If he ever wants to defect from the Greeters Guild to the Personal Shoppers one, this is a solid audition tape.
