Cillian Murphy provides the voiceover to this intriguing communication from the British Heart Foundation. The film opens on a woman peering anxiously around a misty, obscured world which is tinged in red, with flashes of lightning and a throbbing beat suggesting there's something preternatural afoot. A whistle-stop journey through her life follows, alighting on significant moments which made her heart rate increase. Some of these are positive (kissing a first love, feeling a baby kick), while others are more painful (childhood anxiety, losing a parent). As a voice spouting medical jargon slips over the scene, it becomes apparent that the character is inside her own heart, which is being stabilised thanks to ground-breaking research funded by the advertised charity. Director Vincent Haycock handles the busy concept well, ensuring that viewers will conjure up similar moments from their own lives in relatable fashion.
