'Phone Call'
11 January 2023 30s
Bad call.
by Andrew MacGregor

If laptops are a no-no on holidays, then so are smartphones. That's the premise of this British Airways commercial, as the brand's forthright spokeswoman warns viewers not to risk their health for the sake of a few work texts. When her own device rings, she does what any sane individual would do: drop it in a jug of water.

The way she says, "No!" to the caller is spot-on, but one terminated call is not enough. She does the same to the bloke next to her at the bar, as it will help him stay "much less dead for much, much longer". God help him if he tries to fish it out in her presence.
