Mackenzie Sheppard directs this souped-up commercial for Apple, who reckon that the MacBook Pro is more formidable than ever. Why? Because it now comes in Space Black—a shade located between Priest's Socks and the cover to ‘Smell the Glove' (we had to get a Spinal Tap reference in at some point this week). It's an odd place to start, but what about under the bonnet?
The specs are chonky, that’s for sure: M3 chips, next-generation GPU, up to 128GB of RAM, spatial audio… the narrator sounds like she gets high on this stuff. The film itself is much more dynamic and varied, with a "supercharged" blend of animation, visual effects, and fluid camerawork. It's one of the talkier Apple commercials of recent times, but with enough action on the side.
