A whole city's worth of traffic is lifted into the air in this fantastical commercial for the new generation of Apple AirPods. There's initially no explanation for the seemingly futuristic commuting experience, as the air-bound cars and pedestrians are stalled by a parade of some kind passing through a lofty intersection. The source of their gravity-defying journey is soon revealed, as a woman saunters through the calm streets below while sporting the advertised headphones. She turns off noise cancelling to stop at a food stand, and everything crashes back into its normal place to symbolise the sounds of life returning with force. A cover of the Pixies' classic 'Where is My Mind' from Tkay Maidza provides a soothing soundtrack to the action, emphasising the chilled-out nature of life with the noise turned down. Directors Megaforce balance heightened action and a relatable internal narrative nicely, encouraging viewers to try a more muted urban experience for their own peace of mind.
