Aldi
'It's Swindle Season'
6 November 2023 90s
Hell and heaven.
by Jason Stone

What we wouldn't give to see a version of this film with an entirely different soundtrack. The poetry-based VO is jars but, thankfully, the visuals are so good that they're not overwhelmed by it.

The idea is simple... Christmas shopping in supermarkets other than Aldi is hellish at this time of year. And this hellishness is depicted as a complete horror show.

By comparison, of course, Aldi is heavenly, and the same cast of characters enjoy its well-designed space, and generous pricing as soon they are freed from the tyranny of the hypothetical competition (which bears an uncanny resemblance to Walmart).
