'Judi Dench'
13 May 2022 60s
The M factor.
by Andrew MacGregor

When we first met the MoneySuperSeven last year, they reported to a faceless leader who seemed to have little control over her team. Turns out she was just a temp—the real head honcho is none other than Judi 'Eight' Dench, and she's in cost of living crisis management mode.

She tells the team M-style to pull their finger out and find savings wherever they can, as fast as they can. This gives some of the purple-clad cast more to do than others. It's especially telling that codename Energy, who somersaulted over a car last time, has nothing to report.

Instead, the emphasis has shifted to credit cards, car, home, and holiday insurance. Though it's a mild thrill to see Dench back as mission control and on the side of cash-strapped viewers, the brand subtly admit they can only do so much in the bid to reduce energy bills, but the hint of honesty is refreshing. In reality, the comparison being made in the near future is likely to be between a 'dreadful' offer and an 'awful' one.
