Warner’s have created an ad to raise awareness for an accreditation scheme that will be awarded to pubs that take steps to make their outdoor spaces welcoming for both people and wildlife.

Working closely with The Wildlife Trust BCN and using the talents of Doug Allan - an Emmy and BAFTA award-winning British documentary filmmaker and wildlife photographer - they envision pub gardens across the country becoming a place where humans and wildlife can co-exist in harmony. And with 27,000 pub gardens, the potential for new mini havens for wildlife is massive.

The ad has beautiful photography of wildlife and flowers as well as close-ups showing the intricate details of insects such as bees, snails, butterflies and woodlice, the range of the 'pub goers' shown is surprisingly diverse.

The films is longer than it needs to be, and the voiceover is unlikely to fill publicans with a sense of urgency as it's very laid back. The idea though is a win for everyone: many punters will like the idea of supporting their local and enjoy socialising in beautiful gardens, full of life... until the wasps show up, anyway.
