In Donna we trust. | |

This 30" ad puts the spite in Sprite, as a woman bristles at the man at the front of a queue who's forgotten an item. Viewers who pride themselves on efficiency and accuracy when shopping will understand her frustration, especially when a headset-wearing chump is to blame. Donna's conscience—voiced by a gruff Australian bloke—urges her to "take matters into her own hands". How? By terminating his papaya with extreme prejudice, naturally. Cue pieces of orange flesh that cover both counter and clerk with slimy gusto. Of course, the brand would never condone such wanton destruction of fruit in real life, so she just steals the bloke's bottle of Sprite instead with the employee's approval. Does the drink condone shoplifting then? At least this method of revenge is cleaner.
