Paramount promise "a mountain of entertainment" with their new streaming service, Paramount+. Ironically, the cost of living crisis means the platform also have a mountain to climb. Given how many customers have cancelled subscriptions for the likes of Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime in 2022, is this the best time to launch yet another streaming service? This two-minute ad from New Commercial Arts and directors Los Pérez thinks so. Protagonist Pete must deliver coffee to Paramount+'s biggest names, including Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber), Misty Quigley (Christina Ricci), and Queen of the Universe judge Trixie Mattel. He just needs help to navigate the gargantuan backlot. That's where Uma Thurman and Jack Whitehall come in, with the latter behind the wheel of a souped-up tour cart. It's an effective means to showcase the brand's intellectual properties, whether they're front and centre or nestled in the background. However, a running gag with Spock's coffee order suggests Paramount+ are most proud of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The streaming service's fate may be in the hands of the Enterprise crew.
