It's not easy to have the Midas touch, says this quirky commercial for American faucet brand Moen. The film sees the eponymous king exist in an entirely gold world, afflicted by his niche super power from the very moment he wakes.

Checking a phone notification, picking up a parcel - these simple things are made impossible by the fact he has to use his hands to do them. Funny incidental details (like a golden dog frozen in the background of one shot) suggest things are even more limiting than we might expect.

Relief only comes via the brand's motion-sensitive tap, which allows people to not only turn it on and off, but adjust the temperature of water by waving their hand about. It's entertaining stuff which explains the product's utility in amusing fashion... and yes, the faucet also comes in gold.
