Grunge makes a comeback in this promo for Liotta Seoul's 'Hypernormal'. The German group embrace a lo-fi sound with the track, which delves deep into the angst of self-isolation and depression. Not one for the summer party playlists, to say the least. The accompanying promo explores the song's emotional landscape further, with digital glitches and projected images adding to a sense of isolation. This is a life lived mainly online, dark rooms lit by computer screens and - as the lyrics state - pissing in a bottle so as not to break the connection. Director Sven Int-Veen is also the band's guitarist, but this is no half-arsed musician's idea of what a music promo should look like. Brooding and enthralling in equal measure, it should bring fresh eyes to the underground group and introduce new fans to their crunchy, emotional tunes.
