Nearly every working adult will be able to identify with this entertaining and lively ad from LinkedIn. The commercial takes us on a journey in which a female protagonist is trying to find her place and where she fits in in a changing working world.

The ad illustrates, through the joining of endless tables and new people coming together to take a seat, the way that people can become connected to each other using the LinkedIn platform. Whilst watching, you quickly spot the formations of distinct groups, the artsy crowd, the execs, the working parents, the graduates, the creatives, the musicians…and you see the main character moving from group to group, trying to work out which space in which she feels most comfortable. The ad ends with her making a meaningful breakthrough, which reminds us that LinkedIn has the ability to make personal, targeted connections.

The brand's aim of helping professionals to define themselves online, no matter where they’re at in their career is perfectly encapsulated by a visual metaphor which has been superbly realised by director Fern Beresford.
