Swindon calling. | |

Director Robin Mason's tour of Britain began in 2016 with 'Steel Town' - a look at Port Talbot's industrial malaise. The director now concentrates on Swindon's youth with this thoughtful documentary. The adolescent cast each relay their hopes and fears down a telephone line. Some channel their energy through football and motocross, while others question their age group's prospects in a distorted world. Shot on 35mm, Mason and DP David Bird render each vignette in wistful hues. These textured visuals lend further weight to the yearning cast's mature observations. Another small town triumph.
