Up up and away.

When it comes to set-pieces designed to lure an appreciative online audience, you have 'to go big or go home', and this striking film for the Range Rover enthusiastically sets its sights high.

Spark44 and directors Sam Brown and Tom Barbor-Might set themselves a ludicrously difficult challenge and there are moments of doubt on display here which appear to go beyond the usual hype. It's the kind of stunt we're used to seeing on Top Gear and The Grand Tour, but with more difficulty (and no xenophobic banter).

Six minutes normally has DAVID's hand twitching over the Fast Forward button but this mesmerising film held his attention from start to finish. While the PR disaster which would ensue from a fatal accident leads us to believe that those responsible for setting this up were more confident of success than the film suggests, there does seem to have been genuine peril and there are moments during the final ascent when you may find yourself holding your breath.

It's the car that emerges as the real star and this film reinforces the idea that - despite a plethora of different options these days - the Range Rover is still the vehicle you'd most want if you were driving in difficult conditions. And it doesn't really matter that the toughest terrain many of these cars will face is a pothole in the Waitrose car park.

It's a film which has already caught the attention of over a million YouTube viewers as well as the national press. It remains hard to make a proper splash on online platforms alone but when the outcome is as impressive as this, you certainly have a shot at it.
