Carpenter by name, butcher by nature. Directed by Dave Meyers, 'Taste' lets Sabrina Carpenter satisfy her bloodlust after many child-friendly years on the Disney payroll. Her target is Jenna Ortega, but the star of 'Wednesday' and 'Scream' is no pushover. The two 'fight' over Beloved Boyfriend (Rohan Campbell) with a machete, a shotgun, a chainsaw, a defibrillator, voodoo dolls, and more. Carpenter comes off worst, we reckon, as you can see right through her stomach after she lands on a white picket fence. No one likes to lose an arm, either. None of these wounds are fatal, though, as Meyers treats his characters like Deadpool or Madeline and Helen from 'Death Becomes Her'. In fact, the only one to die is Beloved Boyfriend (May 22nd 1998 - August 23rd 2024). He will be missed, but not by Carpenter or Ortega! The funeral scene is the black cherry on top.
