Not so still life. | |

When was the last time art moved you? If it's been too long, you might want to visit the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Just stand outside and wait for the national museum of the Netherlands to pull you in. Tough luck if you wanted to visit the cloakroom first, though. Directed by Femke Huurdeman, this 90" commercial is a drag in the best way possible. Hauled into the building by an invisible force, the protagonist lets it take her where it wants her to go. The more art she takes in, the more her tour defies gravity and velvet ropes. This could have been too 'arty' in the execution, but all fears are allayed when Jan Asselijn's 'The Threatened Swan' causes feathers to fall from the sky. Moments like this ensure the work is pacey and playful, not po-faced.
