Not since the Tide commercial which dominated the Super Bowl a few years ago has there been such a fantastic opportunity to make fun of the advertising business. Director Andreas Nilsson is in his element as he parodies multiple genres in an endless series of questions about what the advertised product might be. It proves to be an excellent way of introducing it, not least because the endless repetition drives the brand name into your head like the hook of a summer hit from your youth. Along the way, the speculations of the two protagonists enable Nilsson to unleash a torrent of pastiches which – as you might expect – he delivers with consummate skill. As ultimately it turns out that OKX is an app designed to help buy and sell crypto currency, the clowning around has another useful dimension... it wonderfully distracts us from the dubiousness of participating in this curious financial bubble.
