Noir parody meets quirky comedy in this amusing new film for ice cream brand Drumstick. The piece stars Dr Umstick, who's fortunately named given that his passion for the advertised cones is all he can talk about. Despite this, he spends the film on a desperate quest to find true love. The unusual animation style brings a nicely uncanny feel to the piece, as small moments of stop motion are interspersed with mostly still shots of the doll characters in different scenes. The central figure's voiceover is also on point, hitting the noir narrator vibe with just the right amount of humour. This is a great example of how a concept can be both product-focused and feel totally off the wall, as the advertised ice cream becomes a fully-fledged extra character in the piece. We're not going to think too hard about the process of the Doc making babies with it, though.
