CHANNEL 4'S DIVERSITY IN ADVERTISING AWARD 2024: INCLUSIVE BY DESIGN |
|
28 July 2024 |
|
Channel 4's Diversity in Advertising Award is back, and the brief for 2024 is Inclusive by Design. The broadcaster are all about inclusive practice this year, so the more barriers to engagement are smashed, the better. |
They reckon that if more ads use inclusive methods, they can reach another fourteen million people across the UK. Numbers like that are not to be sniffed at, and neither is the £1 million of advertising space doled out to the winning brand. E45 won it last year, and Veriça Djurdjevic, chief revenue officer at Channel 4, predicts another strong field.
"The Diversity in Advertising Award has challenged the industry to up its game every year and played a huge role in encouraging it to be more representative of the UK. This year's brief is a call to arms: let's make ads inclusive by design. "Already this year, Channel 4 has begun to challenge the industry on equity and inclusion by committing that all ads during our coverage of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will carry subtitles," Djurdjevic says. "We now want to go further." Those who reckon they can go the distance have until 4pm BST on 20th September to enter. Once a shortlist of six has been chosen, an in-person pitch day will decide who gets the top prize. It's worth a punt, as the rest will be offered up to £250,000 of match funded commercial ad space to make what they pitched. Interested? Of course you are—just click here for more information.
