JOSHUA NEALE HEADS TO SPINDLE.
2 November 2022

Joshua Neale says he "couldn’t be happier" with his move to Spindle for commercial representation. Known for a raft of thoughtful TVCs and documentaries, Neale understood Tim Swaby and Stitch Richardson's ethos immediately.

"Not only are they a wonderful bunch of people with values and taste I really chime with," Neale says, "but the humanity, creativity and exceptional level of craft that characterises their work is incredibly impressive. It definitely feels like the perfect fit for me and I can't wait to start creating some amazing work together."

In return, Spindle were impressed by ads like Family Makes Us Better for Tesco. The supermarket deliver an ode to domesticity as various families navigate life's ups and downs. While the film draws on familiar imagery, it also celebrates how no two family portraits are alike.

There's nothing more refreshing than getting to work with an established and revered director that's still hungry to hustle, grow and develop their style.

 ”

Neale picks out the subtle moments in trademark fashion: an electric toothbrush buzzing away; a nervous wait by the telephone; and an apologetic cuppa. Shot through a sensitive lens, "exquisitely bland" becomes engrossing as the brand endorse tradition and progress in equal measure.

As Neale settles into Spindle HQ, head of sales Emily Jordan-Wilson says: "There's nothing more refreshing than getting to work with an established and revered director that's still hungry to hustle, grow, and develop their style as much as Joshua is. His eye for storytelling with a purpose and beautifully-crafted performance is the perfect fit for us, and I'm really looking forward to watching his work take on a new life."
