Merman have signed director Yorgos Lanthimos to their roster for UK representation.
The multi-award winning filmmaker began his career in his native Greece, filming local dance videos in collaboration with choreographers. He honed his skills for capturing visuals and narrative and soon went on to direct TV commercials, plays, and short films.
Now considered among the top tier of feature film directors, Lanthimos is known for his unusual narrative approach, visual flare, and ability to mix comedy and horror in ways which both delight and disgust audiences.
His 2015 film 'The Lobster' offers an absurd, dark examination of what love and lust mean in the twenty-first century. The film was extremely well received and won a huge number of awards, introducing a wider audience to Lanthimos's work.
Lanthimos's wildly original reel has been enhanced by his most recent release 'The Favourite'. Premiering at the London Film Festival, the film features courtly intrigue, historical drama, and a lesbian love triangle... probably making it one of the director's most 'normal' films to date.
Physically incapable of making boring work, Merman aim to help Lanthimos achieve success in the commercial world to add to his features. So watch out for some weird and wonderful ads in the very near future... or, better still, commission one.
