German animation duo Klimpa have joined Not to Scale for worldwide representation.
Comprised of long-time friends Robert Löbel and Max Mörtl, Klimpa specialise in stop-motion animation and vibrant, unusual character designs. As a result, their showreel features one of the most eclectic casts around.
To see what we mean, check out their 2019 short film ‘Island', which introduces a throng of colourful globules, critters, and landforms - each with their own distinct noises and movements as they go about their daily routines.
Klimpa's recent collaboration with sustainable development project Frames for Future, meanwhile, proves they also can tackle more resonant material. Their entry focuses on clean water and sanitation, and successfully blends mixed-media animation with poignant scenes of drought and pollution.
It's little wonder Not to Scale say they "couldn't be more excited" at Klimpa's arrival, and the studio are eager to unleash Löbel and Mörtl on the right project. DAVID's long-serving gut says they won't have to wait too long.
