Floris Ramaekers moved from the Netherlands to London in 2010 to become a director. The gamble paid off as brands took a punt on Ramaekers and came back for more, which then let him branch out into music videos and short films. So, what inspired this creative leap of faith?
"I wanted to be a comic book artist and music producer in my early teenage years until I figured that a career in film combines both," Ramaekers says. "I figured it was probably my only acceptable path forward to not get a real job as an adult and it turns out I was right."
All jokes aside, the Dutchman has grown into a canny operator who Mad Cow Films are proud to call their own. He's also a well-rounded bloke who enjoys skateboarding, surfing, paragliding, and quality time with his young daughter. For a man without a 'real job', Ramaekers is doing alright for himself.
While the director settles into his new digs, check out this slick plug for Audible inspired by the phenomenon that is the true crime genre. Viewers will recognise phrases such as "She's as straight as they come" and "He's always been a good neighbour", as they often follow revelations about the world's most notorious offenders.
