Emmy Award-winning directors The Way Brothers have joined Rattling Stick for commercial representation in the US.
Siblings Chapman and Maclain are best known for their Netflix documentaries ‘The Battered Bastard of Baseball’ and ‘Wild Wild Country’ - the latter taking home a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series in 2018.
The two are now primed to make their commercial debut with Rattling Stick, and Chapman is determined to repay the company’s faith in him and Maclain.
“It’s really rewarding to experience other worlds and get inside the mindsets of captivating people and project them on screen,” says Chapman, “even if the subject matter may at first seem unconventional.
“We’re thrilled that Rattling Stick believe in us to develop unique commercial campaigns that can spark differing perspectives and open conversation.”
What ultimately swayed co-founder Ringan Ledwidge was the strength of the Way Brothers' cult hit (pardon the pun) documentary ‘Wild Wild Country’, which charts the rise and fall of the Rajneeshpuram commune in 1980s Oregon.
Ledwidge explains: "Having binge-watched 'Wild Wild Country' on Netflix along with everyone else, it wasn’t just the story that drew me in, but also the cinematic language and flair of the piece.
“Then, meeting Chapman and Maclain, you could tell in about three seconds that they are true storytellers and, simply put, really bloody good. It’s a perfect fit for Rattling Stick and we can’t wait to get them in the room with creatives to start making great work together.”
