MOLLY MANNING WALKER FOR ROGUE |
23 April 2024 |
Earlier this year, director Molly Manning Walker joined Rogue... and she's already off the mark, having directed a commercial for Amazon featuring young footballers showing their grit. Manning Walker is a prodigious talent, both as a cinematographer and as a director, and her addition to the roster is another clear signal of Rogue's impressive ambition. |
Manning Walker's debut feature 'How To Have Sex' won the Un Certain Regard at last year's Cannes Film Festival and won a number of other prestigious awards before earning three nominations at the BAFTAs towards the end of the year. Meanwhile, her first feature as a cinematographer - Charlotte Regan's 'Scrapper' - won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2023 edition of the Sundance Film festival. It is an astonishing start to a career that is now so successful it can no longer be classified as merely 'promising' - she's clearly the real deal, and a proven proposition. |
“ |
Not only is she an incredible filmmaking talent but is also a brilliant human being and really lovely to work with. She also happens to be just the right amount of bonkers and great fun to be around. |

Little wonder then that Molly Manning Walker had no intention of looking for representation in the world of TVCs, thinking instead that she would prefer to continue her trajectory with feature films. That was until she worked with Maddy Easton and met Kate Taylor: "I already knew Rogue’s brilliant producer Maddy Easton who I’d worked with as a cinematographer - and then I met Kate Taylor and it’s been a love story ever since. She is an inspiration, full of life, joy and kindness. I have a lot of respect for Kate and I know I am in incredibly safe hands at Rogue." Kate Taylor sees it the same way: "Molly had her pick of London production companies for commercial representation, as you can imagine, and we’re so honoured that she’s chosen Rogue. At just 30 years old, she’s at the madly exciting start of a stellar career in film, which is a unique and precious position to be in. It’s something that she knows Rogue will protect, respect and unwaveringly support at all costs. I would normally say 'I can’t wait to get started' but we are well underway, and it’s just wonderful. "Not only is she an incredible filmmaking talent but is also a brilliant human being and really lovely to work with. She also happens to be just the right amount of bonkers and great fun to be around, which clearly makes her a Rogue - It’s a love story alright, through and through."
