It's clear that Barbin's work already resonates with execuitve producer Mayling Wong: "His creative mind led by post integration and surreal, emotional storytelling has always captivated me within his work, and his video for M83 has been one of my favourites from the last decade. Myself and the rest of the Spindle team are looking forward to what we create next with Sacha." If the sparse lyrics and celestial soundscape of M83's 'My Tears Are Becoming A Sea' offer little to latch onto, viewers can invest in an expectant couple's dash to the hospital in the rain instead. Barbin and co-director Ryan Doubiago's use of slo-mo adds unabashed style to proceedings, while the climactic car crash has a supernatural twist that is too batshit crazy to ignore.
Paris-based Barbin, who flits between commercials and music videos with remarkable ease, adds: "I love their values, their ambition, and their vision for the industry. Spindle is growing, and I'm excited to be part of this journey. Together, we're set to weave stories that resonate!"
