NADAV KANDER LANDS IN THE UK WITH CHELSEA PICTURES.

Director and photographer Nadav Kander is now represented on both sides of the Atlantic by Chelsea Pictures. He knows all about their "rigour, energy and no-bullshit attitude" from his time in New York and Los Angeles, so joining their London roster was a no-brainer.

"I've always had so much respect for Chelsea in the US," Kander says, "so to come on board in the UK feels natural and timely. I'm sure the same honesty and love of good films will be in the DNA here." Those attributes can be found in executive producer Nell Jordan, Kander's new number-one fan.


"He possesses the aptitude to convey immense beauty in the mundane which has culminated in many awards including an Honorary Fellowship of The Royal Photographic Society, a Prix Pictet award, multiple Cannes Lions, and numerous D&AD pencils," Jordan says. "Sharing his work in the UK market alongside our other esteemed directors will be a privilege."

Kander's already made a, erm, splash on these shores with ads like this Highways England spot. Rain begins to pour inside a strangely empty house, soaking the belongings left behind by children on a busy morning. The sounds of an emergency dispatch about a family involved in a serious accident are heard as we finally see the family and it becomes apparent why the house is empty.


Such work leads head of sales Mel Fong to say: "I am honoured to be repping Nadav. His photography is so recognisable and hugely influential, it is no wonder that he has work hanging in The National Portrait Gallery. His films for brands like Christie's, Highways England, and Age UK blow me away in their understated power. He is a true artist in every sense."
