Curate have added rising star Prano Bailey-Bond to their roster.
The Welsh director grew up on a diet of Twin Peaks and other such esoteric telly offerings, so it's perhaps no wonder that her film work establishes a darkly beautiful tone. Preoccupied with finding the glamour in life's strangest places, she has been singled out as one to watch when it comes to horror, suspense, and all things macabre.
Voted as one of Variety's top ten directors to watch in 2021, Bailey-Bond's debut feature film 'Censor' premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. A psychological thriller starring Niamh Algar, the piece explores the intersection between memory and terror and questions whether some wounds should remain unopened for the sake of one's sanity.
I'm excited to return to short form and brew some cold and delicious projects with the team.
Joining the team at Curate will bring the cinematic up-and-comer a host of new opportunities and challenges, something she's looking forward to getting her teeth into. While further long-form projects beckon, the allure of short sharp shocks still greatly appeals to the horror enthusiast.
Bailey-Bond commented on the signing: "It's an honour to be joining Curate Films incredible roster of directors. I'm excited to return to short form and brew some cold and delicious projects with the team."
