PROGRESS WELCOME SAM WASHINGTON.
1 December 2020

Writer and director Sam Washington is the latest addition to The Progress Film Company's roster of talent.

Having worked in the industry since the tender age of 16, Washington has a wealth of experience under his belt. He's become particularly known for his comedy work, which plays to his aptitude for performance-led storytelling.

One notable example of this is a series of commercials for Australian telecommunications company Optus starring Rick Gervais. Washington makes the most of the comedian's dry sense of humour, as Gervais phones in a performance that leaves both everything and nothing to be desired... depending on your perspective.

In addition to such well-received work, Washington has directed hundreds of commercials throughout his tenure behind the camera - picking up numerous awards both internationally and on home soil.

His campaign for Camden Town Brewery is one such homegrown project, which asks viewers to think outside the box and "raise Hells". It's proof Washington's directing talents extend well beyond comedy, and speaks to the diverse nature of his directorial approach.

With his ambition to follow in Ridley Scott's footsteps and dominate the commercial world before shooting a blockbuster well underway, both Washington and The Progress Film Company will be keen to see how much further their partnership takes him.

For more information on all things Sam Washington, get in touch with The Progress Film Company's Antoinette De Lisser at antoinette@progressfilm.co.uk or on 01273 205 640.
