Italian-born director Alessandro Pacciani is the latest to join 76 Ltd’s talented roster.
The Italian has carved out a handy niche for himself with high-end car ads and video game trailers dominating his reel - something executive producer Mark Murrell describes as “pretty special”.
One film that caught 76’s eye in particular was Pacciani’s ‘Beginnings’ ad for Acura. The all-too-aptly titled film charts a young boy’s growing obsession with motorsport, and lets Pacciani flex his cinematic muscles across two engrossing minutes.
Elsewhere, the director has become a canny operator in the video game realm, producing both live-action and CG trailers for several tentpole releases. This ‘Dark Souls II’ promo, for example, provides a sodden, bloody glimpse at the game’s infernal setting and its equally grim inhabitants.
Pacciani’s recent work for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), on the other hand, is a gleeful shootout with the safety well and truly off. While the violence on show may not be to everyone's taste, it proves that 76 Ltd's new man can deliver bang for your buck, so to speak.
