BURGER GRAB JIM FIELD SMITH.
13 September 2017

Accomplished film and TV director Jim Field Smith has joined Burger Films for commercial representation.

Field Smith reunites with Burger founder Alan Traquair, who produced several of his early ads. Traquair says: "It's great to reconnect professionally and to be able to introduce his wonderful talent to our clients."

The feeling is mutual. Specialising in comedy work, Field Smith notes: "Alan just naturally understands my sensibility." Settling in won't be an issue, then.

Despite his growing filmography, Field Smith remains committed to advertising. He says: "I've worked across a lot of formats, but for me, it's about the idea, whatever the shape and size. What appeals to me is when I feel I can truly bring something to the project."

[Field Smith's] depth of experience and undeniable talent across multiple formats is so exciting in this era of advertising.

 ”

The likes of Burger King and the Grammys have benefited from Field Smith's droll approach. Furthermore, this Cow & Gate film showed what can be achieved in an unlikely sector… with a little help from Dexys Midnight Runners.

Field Smith's transatlantic schedule also keeps him busy. He's shot feature films and comedy series like ‘The Wrong Mans', nabbing BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations along the way. Not bad for a man who claims he never saw himself becoming a director.

Traquair believes Field Smith is now in his element: "His depth of experience and undeniable talent across multiple formats is so exciting in this era of advertising. We can't wait to see what the future holds."

There's no time like the present. Have a look at Field Smith's showreel here, then contact Alan Traquair on 020 7436 1109 or via email at alan@burgerfilms.com.
