THE STAGE IS SET FOR DANIEL LUNDH AT HAMLET. |
|
26 March 2023 |
|
Comedy director Daniel Lundh has joined HAMLET for representation in France, Belgium, China, and the Netherlands. The Swede says his heart beats for comedy, which may or may not be a serious medical condition. Until doctors tell him otherwise, Lundh will keep at it. |
That works for HAMLET's co-founder and executive producer, Jason Felstead, who says: "Daniel's style of directing is unconventional, and I would even say progressive in a way. Besides that, he sets his stories in an environment where the comedy is supported by a great sense of style and aesthetics that match our style perfectly."
"I'm keen on working with him," Felstead says, "in fact we'll shortly be launching our first work we did together." If they want to celebrate with pizza, we reckon Pizza Express will be happy to help. Keen to move on from the Prince Andrew era, the restaurant chain tapped Lundh for a commercial that celebrates indulgence one slice at a time. |

Jason, Ruben, and the team at HAMLET perfectly match my style of film and way of working. |

With David Mitchell on voiceover duty, the action flits between stylised scenes showing off different sorts of customers. From cutthroat sisters to ex-boyfriend nabbers and gym shirkers, there's no need for squeaky-clean behaviour to earn slices and dough balls at the advertised chain.
Lundh handles the hyper-real action with aplomb here, ensuring that eagle-eyed viewers have a chance to take in the lovely incidental details of each scene. It helps, says Lundh, that "Jason, Ruben [Goots], and the team at HAMLET perfectly match my style of film and way of working". Now that's good for the heart.
