LAURENT BARTHELEMY HEADS TO ARCHER'S MARK
1 March 2018

Archer's Mark have signed French director Laurent Barthelemy to their roster for commercial representation.

A Paris native, Barthelemy spent a decade working as a renowned CG artist and designer before stepping behind the camera full time.

Barthelemy is known for his innovative use of VFX to create fresh visuals which delight and inspire.

His refined aesthetic sensibility can be seen in his acclaimed 'Crow' film. Created for MTV, the piece uses stark colour contrast and fluid animation to enthral the viewer.

We’re always looking for distinctive voices that stand out in the crowded market place and Laurent’s trajectory and experience has given his work such modern flavour.

 ”

Not limiting his skills to animation, Barthelemy is also a talented live action director. His epic 'Lunar' ad for Nike shows off this unique blend of skills, as the film mixes an astute sense of design with arresting VFX to create visuals which feel truly out of this world.

In addition to atmospheric aesthetics, Barthelemy has a knack for narrative. His measured touch allows his subjects to shine, as does his polished documentary style.

Barthelemy's poignant study of professional boxer Heather Hardy explores both her sporting and personal life - examining the balance between fighting for a living and being a single mother. It's a compelling watch, presenting a story which feels emotionally authentic and affirming.

Archer's Mark are certainly looking forward to welcoming their latest talent to the roster.

Executive Producer Ben Whitfield said of the signing: "Laurent stood out to us immediately for the simple fact that his work demonstrates such a broad array of characteristics; high quality performance, slick cinematography, innovative visual design, bags of human emotion and narrative energy.

"We're always looking for distinctive voices that stand out in the crowded market place and Laurent's trajectory and experience has given his work such modern flavour."

Laurent Barthelemy's reel is now available at Archer's Mark, so head over and take a look. For more information on him or anyone else on the roster, get in touch with Nicky Flemming at nicky@archersmark.co.uk or on 020 7426 5160.
