The menopause may not be the most obvious inspiration for a Spotify playlist, but Dark Horses creatives Sarah Levitt and Matt Roach have made it work. Released to mark the launch of a prescription pre-payment certificate for hormone replacement therapy (HRT), The Menopause Mix: Hot 100 is "a playlist that reads as a story".

Melissa Robertson, CEO of Dark Horses and director at Menopause Mandate, reckons variety is the playlist’s secret weapon: “From my own experience, the most relevant part of the playlist for me is Mozey's 'I've Got' and Purple Cat's 'Brain Fog'. Everyone will see their own symptoms in the list though—or those of their partners, colleagues, mums, sisters, and friends.

"As with our previous 'It's Beyond a Joke' campaign," Robertson says, "the ambition is to make this topic more approachable and accessible to everyone by using humour to disarm and engage broader audiences."
