VINTED AND CHANNEL 4'S PRE-LOVE-IN.

Vinted and Channel 4 first joined forces in 2021 when the second-hand clothing app sponsored Hollyoaks. Jorgie Porter, who plays Theresa McQueen in the soap, fronts the brands' latest tie-up: a YouTube series that puts pre-loved fashion front and centre.

'Second Hand Style-Up' sees Porter and stylist Emma Winder turn old clothes into new outfits. First to enlist their help is Tyler, a trans man whose new life poses various sartorial challenges. Rather than throw money at new clothes when budgets are tightening, Winder sells Tyler's old clothes on Vinted and uses the money to buy pre-loved gems.

The campaign echoes eBay's sponsorship of 'Love Island', a programme once synoynmous with fast fashion. Chuck in a bunch of sponsorship idents for 'Hollyoaks' and you can see that Vinted mean business. Characters who use rival second-hand clothing apps may suffer the consequences.
