JOHNNY KELLY ARRIVES AT ANTIDOTE.
15 July 2019

Johnny Kelly - who has just joined Antidote for representation in Ireland - is a man of simple pleasures. When asked about his career highlights so far, the multiple Cannes Grand Prix winner says: "Nothing in my career has topped the Ronald McDonald toothbrush I won for a colouring competition in 1984."

If anything, that toothbrush has only spurred Kelly on. Thanks to the Irishman's flair for mixed media projects and likeable character designs, he's delivered a host of colourful and memorable ads for brands across the globe.

Take Kelly's 2019 Cheerios work, for example. Inspired by US children's TV staples like Schoolhouse Rock and Sesame Street, Kelly matches earworm songs with a cast of puppets that playfully reflect how modern families are comprised.

Naturally, Antidote's executive producer Andrew Freedman was keen to snap up Kelly after noting his early promise: "Ever since seeing Johnny's grad film a few years back, I've always wanted to work with him. He is consumed by creativity and brings a consummate professionalism to his working process."

We're very much looking forward to introducing Johnny to the Irish creative industry and finding ways to showcase his talent.

 ”

Freedman has already seen this process firsthand, with Kelly's Antidote debut hitting screens earlier this summer. As for the future, Freedman says Antidote are "very much looking forward to introducing Kelly to the Irish creative industry and finding ways to showcase his talent."
