JOE CONNOR SIGNS TO ROGUE
21 January 2020

Joe Connor is something of an all-rounder when it comes to the performing arts. As well as being an enormously talented director of film, he's also made a name for himself in the realms of music, photography and theatre.

Connor has been bubbling under for some time, and feels rife for a significant breakthrough this year. That's certainly what Kate Taylor and her Roguish cohorts will be hoping as they launch him on their ever-strengthening roster.

Connor has been shortlisted at Cannes Lions; the D&ADs and the British Arrows; and his music videos have been nominated at the UK MVAs.

He is also co-founder of the acclaimed visual theatre company Parrot in the Tank; has directed fashion films for Paul Smith; and has shot still portraits of Ed Sheeran, Anthony Joshua and Kylie Minogue.

His eclecticism demonstrates a real love for the arts... a passion which was amplified when he trained as a theatre director at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. The first class degree he acquired testament to both his talent and his diligence.

The beauty of the work Rogue have always created and the enthusiasm of Kate Taylor to drive that work forward into tomorrow. Shes a force!

 ”

He augmented his income as a student by working as a 35mm projectionist at The Everyman Cinema, an experience which improved his film knowledge and gave him a sense of its power and endless potential for creativity.

Kate Taylor says of her new signing: "He is a rare talent with immense promise. Hes young but experienced, single-minded in his quest to direct but also a creative polymath; director, recording artist, photographer, mime artist, clown! When he talks reverently of film-making, he talks in terms of making magic and that, for me, is gold.

Connor repays the compliment: "The beauty of the work Rogue have always created and the enthusiasm of Kate Taylor to drive that work forward into tomorrow. Shes a force!. Im here to surprise myself. Its all about the future, its about finding the scripts to match my visual ambition and the creatives that eat that work for breakfast."
