ACADEMY FILMS WELCOME SOPHIA RAY.

Director and photographer Sophia Ray has become the latest addition to Academy's global roster. After graduating from Chelsea College of Arts with a degree in graphic design, Ray worked at a PR firm and a creative agency as she found her artistic voice.

When she won Best Lyric Video at the 2014 MTV Music Video Awards, Ray knew she was on the right track. Subsequent promos and commercials for the likes of Ellie Goulding and Royal Match have made her one of the most in-demand directors on the circuit, with Academy Films as her new launchpad.


Their co-owner, Medb Riordan, says: "Not only is Sophia one of the most exciting directing talents coming up in the world right now, she is also an absolute 100% babe—one of the nicest people you could ever work with. We are beyond thrilled that she has decided to join Academy, and we look forward to a long and happy life together!"

So what does Ray think about this union? "I am super excited to be joining Academy - everyone has made me feel so welcome and like I am a part of the family already. It really is such an honour to be on the roster alongside such world class talent. Beyond thrilled to get going and growing with them!"
