LADY ELEANOR RETURNS HOME TO CONQUER LONDON |
|
23 February 2023 |
|
Just four years after setting up Eleanor in Los Angeles, Sophie Gold is aiming to conquer her home city of London, and judging by the success she's had in the US, she means business. This idea is reinforced by her recruitment of the hugely capable Josie Juneau, and, after conversations with the two of them last week, and bearing witness to their vision and ambition, DAVID is confident that Eleanor London will bring a special energy to the London scene from their Soho HQ. |
The extraordinary success of Eleanor in Los Angeles is largely down to Sophie's extraordinary eye for talent, and her brilliance at meeting the needs of clients and agencies. Her refreshing positivity has won her admirers across the industry, and has made her company one of the most in-demand in the highly competitive US market. |
“ |
Expect to see more innovation and more great ideas, but most importantly, more brilliant storytelling. |
” |
|
Duplicating American success in London has proven a tough challenge for many companies over the years, but Sophie has two key advantages over many of the personnel who have set out to do this. First, she grew up in London, and has an innate understanding of its people and its culture. Second, she has Josie Juneau running her London operation, and having worked alongside industry giants Danny Kleinman, Johnny Frankel and the much-missed Ringan Ledwidge, Josie possesses all the knowledge, skill and inside track needed to quickly build Eleanor into a company that can compete for the best jobs being written and created by London agencies. |
“ |
I cannot wait to champion the directors at Sophie’s side, in a fashion that's true to Eleanor's wonderful ethos. |
” |
|
London is a crowded marketplace, but there is always room for innovation and charisma, and the arrival of Eleanor in London is an adrenaline shot for the whole industry. Sophie Gold is one of the most forward-thinking company leaders in the US, and is routinely asked to comment on hot topics by the American trade press. |
“ |
When I was introduced to Josie, I knew that she was the champion that I needed. |
” |
|
Over the past few years, she has expanded this influence by established an invitation-only series of salons in Los Angeles. They have become hot ticket events which regularly attract the most senior figures in the industry, and provide an opportunity to discuss important issues in a convivial setting. Sophie and Josie have already imported this idea to London by holding their first salon over here, and are looking forward to making this an event that's as keenly anticipated in London as it is in LA. Sophie Gold is very excited to be opening Eleanor over here: "London is my home, so in a sense, this is where it all began. My team and I are reinventing the industry in two cities across two different continents, inspiring directors to push past the set standards for commercial advertising and encouraging them to use it as a vehicle that drives strong narratives. "Expect to see more innovation and more great ideas, but most importantly, more brilliant storytelling. My ever-watchful eye for amazing talent remains." Josie Juneau is awestruck: "I feel incredibly honoured that Sophie has entrusted me with Lady Eleanor’s grand return to London. "Sophie's constant drive to support outstanding talent and powerful filmmaking had me at 'hello'. I cannot wait to champion the directors at Sophie’s side, in a fashion that's true to Eleanor's wonderful ethos." And Sophie says of joining forces with Josie: "When I was introduced to Josie, I knew that she was the champion that I needed. Not only is she a champion for craft, she is also a fierce advocate for the directors she has represented during her time in the industry. And that is the essence of Eleanor."
