MOIRAI EMBRACE ALBA ROLAND MEJIA.
1 March 2024

Director, writer, and producer Alba Roland Mejia has joined MOIRAI for global representation. Based in Oakland, California, Mejia made a splash in 2021 with 'Blackness is Everything', a film about the diversity of the Black diaspora in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Her experimental short made Vimeo's Best of 2021 list, which made the Oakland talent even more determined to share underrepresented stories. Now, with MOIRAI's support, Meija is ready to kick her career up a notch.

"I'm honoured to join the high calibre of talent at MOIRAI," she says, "and grateful to have found a space to continue highlighting stories that go untold, stories that build community, and stories of impact. MOIRAI's intimate approach to storytelling aligns perfectly with my goal as a filmmaker: building connection."

What she touches turns to magic and you cannot help but be captivated by her vision and how she takes an idea to life.

 ”

Meija adds: "I'm excited to be in collaboration with a team who pushes the boundaries of storytelling and champions the importance of staying faithful to my authentic voice." That suits MOIRAI's Vanessa Lanci, who knew that she had a director with talent and vision on her hands straight away.

The company's co-founder says: "We are so excited to welcome Alba Roland Mejia to our roster of exceptional talent. Alba's work is not only visually captivating but also carries a beautiful unique depth of storytelling that resonates with audiences.

"What she touches turns to magic and you cannot help by be captivated by her vision and how she takes an idea to life. Her voice will contribute to the continued success and innovation that MOIRAI Films is known for."
