MELODY MAKER JOINS LONDON ALLEY.

Melody Maker, director of commercials and promos, has joined London Alley for work in the United States. Named after the magazine (or perhaps a 1933 musical comedy), Melody Maker is self-taught, self-made, and so chuffed to be Stateside.

She's met in Los Angeles by founder Luga Podesta, who says: "Melody has that rare ability to bring her vision to life through an artistic style that’s completely her own. It's obvious why she's made such a name for herself in the UK and we couldn't be more excited by her limitless potential here in the US with our team."

For an idea of what Melody Maker brings to her new home, check out this 2021 promo for Greentea Peng. The director explores small moments of humanity throughout, like cups of tea and cigarettes—minor rituals which give our lives purpose despite their simplicity. The film gives them all a psychedelic sheen, shots shifting through kaleidoscopic colours and tinged at the edges with the fuzz of a fond memory.

She says: "London Alley are home to some of the top directorial minds in the business, each of us bringing something unique to the table. I've always admired how London Alley elevate their clients to cultural transcendence, so I am looking forward to showcasing my style on future projects."
