RSA have signed acclaimed director and photographer Meji Alabi to their roster for US and UK commercial representation.
Alabi's reel reflects the diverse cultures of his upbringing - having spent his formative years between London, Lagos, and Texas - and these influences shine through his use of vibrant imagery and distinctive storytelling style.
Not content to be constrained by any medium or genre, Alabi's work spans music promos, ad campaigns, and magazine editorials. His use of colour and appreciation for quirky street style has made him a unique point of contact between the African and Western markets - someone whose talent is very much found in translation.
He's an extraordinary young talent and I know a lot of people have been keeping tabs on his work.
Alabi is signed to RSA's sister company Black Dog for his music promo work, and the RSA team are enthusiastic to meet the director's commercial goals with the same verve.
"We've been discussing commercial representation with Meji for a while," says RSA MD Kai Hsiung. "He's an extraordinary young talent and I know a lot of people have been keeping tabs on his work with Black Dog. We can't wait to help him match his commercial ambition at RSA."
With upcoming projects which include work on Beyoncé's visual album 'Black is King', Alabi is sure to hit the ground running at RSA. His strong visual identity remains intact regardless of a shoot's scale - something which should make his shift into the commercial scene one to watch.
