PARK VILLAGE PICK LEWIS ROSE.
14 February 2018

Park Village describe themselves as "thrilled" to announce the news that they've added filmmaker Lewis Rose to their roster of directorial talent. The NW1 outfit were drawn to Rose's observational style and say it's something they're looking forward to nurturing in the future.

Rose extols the human touch: "In all of my work… I try to bring memorable characters to screen. I like to focus on people's quirks and interesting characteristics, taking in the good, the bad, the funny and the strange... we're all a little bit odd deep down."

His 2015 short film ‘The Chop' is a good calling card. Rose's tribute to halal and kosher butchers shows how far one man will go for gainful employment… even changing name and religion.

Vegetarians may wince, but Rose ensures Yossi's travails come across well. Rose aims to channel the film's positive reception on the festival circuit into his TVC and promo work.

Lewis has a real talent for finding those everyday comedy moments we can all relate to.

 ”

For instance, his promo for Beardyman's ‘Mountainside' earned a Best Dance Newcomer gong at the 2016 UK Music Video Awards. Aided by some enlightening subtitles, Rose depicts a fleeting romance under strobe lights.

Park Village MD Tom Webb says: "Lewis has a real talent for finding those everyday comedy moments we can all relate to and I'm thrilled that he is joining the roster."

As for Rose: "I'm over the moon to be signing to Park Village. To be part of a production company that is so well regarded, with such great history and so full of talented people is an absolute dream.

"I can't wait to start collaborating with the team - I think we're a great fit creatively and I'm buzzing to get going."
