NEXUS STUDIOS SIGN CHROMOSPHERE
18 September 2017

Nexus Studios have signed US-based design and animation studio Chromosphere to their roster.

Led by Creative Director Kevin Dart, Chromosphere have operated from Los Angeles since 2016. Global representation with Nexus will allow them to take their talents beyond HQ and out into the world at large.

Chromosphere are showing the way in making innovative work feel beautifully crafted.

 ”

The studio has a distinctive, graphic animation style which plays with clean lines and texture to create modern visuals with a vintage twist.

The members of the collective work together as both friends and artists, using personal relationships to strengthen their creative output. Their striking, beautiful film 'Forms in Nature' was the product of nearly a decade of collaboration.

The meticulously-crafted film celebrated the relationship between art, science, and nature, and was widely acclaimed. It won the 2016 Motion Award for Best Short Film, and drew significant attention to the fledgling studio.

With Kevin Dart's strong animation background at the helm, the studio are poised to use their collaboration with Nexus to take things to the next level. Their move into VR is shown in the forthcoming, ambitious Google Spotlight story 'Sonaria'.

Created with Scot Stafford, the ethereal film is an experimental first for Google and shows the kind of skills which Nexus are well-placed to help Chromosphere develop further.

Dart said of the signing: "Nexus is a leader in new frontiers of animation combining art and interactivity for exciting new platforms like AR and VR. As we aim to create more work that helps inspire and educate, we see Nexus as a great partner in forging that path."

Chris O'Reilly, co-founder and ECD at Nexus Studios added: "Chromosphere are showing the way in making innovative work feel beautifully crafted. We're delighted to have them join the roster."

Chromosphere's reel is now live at Nexus, so head over and take a look at some more of their work. For information on them or anyone else on the roster, get in touch with Sam O'Brien at sam.obrien@nexusstudios.com or give the Nexus gang a call on 020 7749 7500.
